Abdullah Alfalahi Secures Second Qualification Card for “The Golden Square” in Fazza Yola Championship
In a thrilling encounter at the 24th edition of the Fazza Yola Championship, Abdullah Alfalahi from Al Ain clinched his second qualification card for the “Golden Square” by outperforming Ahmed Balquba Al Mansoori from Dubai. The intense competition unfolded during the second round of the championship’s second stage, which is also the 19th edition of the field program. The event is organized by the Fazza Championships Management at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center.
The electrifying night witnessed fierce competition and enthusiastic crowd engagement, propelling the participants further towards realizing their dream of winning the prestigious Fazza Golden Cup. The event took place on the stage of the arena amidst a passionate audience in the Heritage Village at Dubai Club for Arabian Horse Racing in Al Marmoom.
Alfalahi’s victory over Al Mansoori in the second-round face-off, marked by extremely close results, added an extra layer of excitement and competitiveness to the championship. Alfalahi now joins Ali Al Azizi, who secured qualification from the fifth round. Two remaining spots for the Golden Square will be determined over the next two weeks, with the stages taking place every Friday at 9:00 PM at Al Marmoom’s Castle in the Heritage Village.
The evening kicked off with the Yola competition, set to the tune of the song “Ra’i Al Azz” by the Emirati artist, Mihad Hamad. The contestants delivered exceptional performances on the arena stage, capturing the attention and enthusiasm of the present audience. Under the judgment of Khalifa bin Sab’een, the Yola specialist, Alfalahi received the Yola sign, marking a highly remarkable episode hosted by Rashed Al Khasouni, the Director of Fazza Championships at Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center. The event was broadcasted live on Sama Dubai channels and aired on Al Oula 107.4 FM.
In the Morothon Challenge, Ahmed Al Mansoori correctly answered a heritage question, earning him 10 points.
During the earlier swimming challenge held at the Hamdan Sports Complex, Al Mansoori showcased his prowess, securing 15 points.
In the shooting challenge, conducted live on the arena stage, involving running to grab the weapon and aiming at the targets, Alfalahi gained 15 points.
In the Poetry Count challenge, adjudicated by the poet Saad bin Marzouq Al Ahbabi, the participants presented a poem titled “Ya Hil Al Khananij Al Qawayya.” Alfalahi earned his points in this category.
The final challenge, a 500-meter camel race held in collaboration with the Dubai Camel Racing Club at the same location, saw Al Mansoori emerging victorious, securing 20 points.
Natalie Joseph Odessian, the Director of Radios, Media, Corporate Communications, and the head of the organizing committee of the Fazza Yola Championship, highlighted the championship’s mission to preserve national heritage. She emphasized that the competition aims not only to be a traditional championship but also to focus on enhancing various skills and the arts of popular heritage.
Abdul Rahman Al Jneid as a Guest:
In the sixth episode, the renowned artist Abdul Rahman Al Jneid was a guest, presenting the song “Haroof Nukasa” with lyrics by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and composed by Mihad Hamad. Al Jneid expressed his joy in participating, stating his deep connection to the Emirati culture since childhood. He conveyed his pride in showcasing the nation’s heritage in such events and praised the Fazza Yola Championship as a leading platform in supporting and encouraging the country’s youth.
